Hello from the high seas!

Hello from the high seas! - Lucy Williams Global

Hello from the high seas and welcome to my new blog! I will be sharing my travels from around the world while onboard a cruise ship.

I have just boarded for the world cruise and I am sailing across the Pacific Ocean down to Bora Bora, French Polynesia.

It is taking eight days to get there and we are going through rough weather, so not pleasant if you get seasick!

Luckily, I do not suffer from it very often, as I have my sea legs after working onboard for ten years before I travelled with my husband.

The first segment of the cruise has changed itinerary, as we were meant to go to Honolulu, Pago Pago and Nuku’alofa.

The ship had to change the route due to the weather as there is currently a storm in the Pacific Ocean.

I’m happy to go to Bora Bora and Papeete instead, as Bora Bora is a paradise that you see on a postcard and Papeete is lovely and tropical when you leave the port area!

Then we go to the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, Auckland, New Zealand and Sydney, Australia and lots of days at sea, 16 in total.

The Bay of Islands is a new port for me so I am really looking forward to visiting it for the day.

Hello from the high seas!

I joined the ship in Los Angeles and I flew over from London, so it was a very long flight (nearly 12 hours).

But, I was very lucky and got three seats to myself, so thank you Virgin Atlantic!

I have to say Virgin does a good job when it comes to movie selection, as I never sleep on planes.

But my top tip is that I have never tried it before, but worked!

When you get to your destination take a sea-sick tablet before you go to bed and you will sleep off your jet lag.

Usually, it takes me a week to get into the time zone, but this worked a treat.

For the next few days at sea, I will be hopefully going to the gym when the weather calms down, as I don’t feel like falling off a machine or dropping a weight on my foot!

So I’m watching what I eat! As it is too easy to eat all the yummy pastries and cakes!

I will keep you updated on my trip, I have already been asked how I pack for a world cruise, so I will be blogging about that very soon.

I hope you enjoyed reading ‘Hello from the high seas’. Please share on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest so your friends and family can read too. Sharing is caring!

Happy Travels
