In Santa Margherita, you can walk around more and visit churches, big hotels, sit on the beach, have lunch.
Santa Margherita is still on the pricey side, but not as much as Portofino.
It takes approx. 45 minutes to get to Santa Margherita and you can get there by boat, train or driving.

Camogli is approx. 45 minutes from Genoa and you can take a boat, train or drive there.
This small town is a lot quieter compared to Portofino and Santa Margherita as only the locals know about it. All the tourists head to well-known places, such as Portofino.

The town has a harbour and a beach and is surrounded by colourful buildings.
This is the place to have lunch as the prices are the same as Genoa and do not have a price tag of Portofino. There are lots of little restaurants, bars and shops.

Milan is approx. 2 hours away from Genoa and the easiest way to get there is by train or driving. It is a big city with lots to see.
The city is a lot more touristy, so expect to pay more in touristy areas, like by the cathedral and shopping district.

Cinque Terre is made up of five villages, so if you are on a private tour you can see a little of each quickly in a day.
But each town is nice to see individually if you have the time, as each village is unique in its own way.
