It has its Own Little Italian Village

Mykonos is also home to the picturesque Little Venice which is the most romantic hotspot in Mykonos. 

As it had lots of little fishing houses from the 18th Century that look directly onto the see – it has the feel of Venice about it which is what makes it so popular. 

You will now find that these fishing houses have been turned into cafes, bars, restaurants and shops – making it a beautiful place to visit. Little Venice is a busy little spot, so make sure you arrive early.

Petros the Pelican is their Mascot

You may not have heard of Petros the Pelican before, but he is probably the most infamous animal that has ever graced Mykonos and is affectionately known as their mascot. 

He was named in 1958 after he was found injured by some local fishermen in 1958. He became so famous that he even had a movie star lifestyle in New York for a while.  Although he passed on in 1985, Petros is still a mascot of Mykonos.
