Whether you work full-time, part-time, stay at home to care for your children or another relative, or a combination of all of the above, you’re busy.
Being busy seems to be the usual way of life these days, and although we might be used to it, that doesn’t mean it’s good for us either physically or mentally.
Slowing down every now and then and taking a well-earned break is essential if we want to keep on being productive and efficient.
The more tired we are, the more likely we are to make mistakes, and that means more work which makes us more tired, and so on.
Is it time you had a holiday? Here are some of the reasons why you might need one.

You’re Stressed
There will be times when you feel stressed about a situation or a person, for example, and it will make you feel angry and frustrated.
You might even feel down about it. In most cases, however, once the stress has passed, you can go on with your normal life and be none the worse for it – stress every now and then keeps you alert and aware of what is happening and is a perfectly natural part of life.
Stress that is a more permanent feature is not a good thing at all. Chronic stress leads to all kinds of illnesses and problems, including depression, anxiety, high blood pressure (which leads to stroke), and heart disease.
If you’re feeling stressed, one of the best things you can do is step away from everything that is causing that stress, and if that means investigating must-see places in Greece and jetting away for a little while, then so be it.

Your Productivity Is Down
You might not even have realized it, but over time you will have become much less productive than you were when you first started your job, the project you’re working on, or whatever else you are doing.
That’s because you’re getting more and more tired as the days, weeks, and months go by, and you’re doing much less in the same amount of time than you were before.
This often means that you start to work longer hours to make up the difference, but this simply makes you more tired. So what can you do?
You can take a holiday. When on holiday you will have time to sleep more and refresh yourself.
After one or two weeks of good sleep and rest, you’ll be able to head back to work ready and raring to go with much higher productivity levels.

You Don’t Feel Happy
It’s hard to be happy all of the time, but it’s important to feel this particular emotion more often than not.
For many people, though, happiness is not their overriding feeling; instead, they feel down and even miserable.
Some might be suffering from clinical depression, and if that is the case, then medical intervention of some sort is what is needed.
However, if it’s not depression that you’re feeling but rather a case of the blues, or perhaps boredom, going on holiday will help you.
You’ll soon realise how much fun there is to be had in life and why it’s important to keep it in your mind on a daily basis.
Once you have experienced fun and feel happier again, you can bring those feelings back home with you and try to incorporate them into your everyday activities.
