1. Visit a Museum or Art Gallery
One great way to learn about history and culture is by visiting local museums or art galleries during your holiday break. Whether it’s an interactive exhibit or just a tour around the premises, you can get an educational experience from any museum visit. In addition, many museums have special holiday-themed events and programs as well, so it can be a fun and engaging way to entertain yourselves.
2. Book a City Tour
If you’re on holiday in a new city, why not book yourself on a city tour? Not only will it give you an opportunity to learn about the history and culture of the place, but it will also provide you with plenty of sights and attractions along the way.
3. Attend Local Cuisine Cooking Classes
Cooking classes are a great way to learn about the cuisine of your destination. Not only will you get to discover and sample new dishes, but you’ll also be able to pick up a few tips from local chefs on how to prepare them. Many cooking classes even provide a festive twist to their recipes during the holiday season, so it’s an especially fun activity for foodies out there.

Every culture has unique holidays and festivals, which can make memorable experiences. So if you have time on your hands, why not look into the local festivities that are happening? You’ll be able to witness traditional customs and celebrations first hand and gain more knowledge about the culture.
5. Take a Language Course
What better way to learn a language than with an immersive experience during your holiday break? Many cities offer crash courses in local languages that are tailored for visitors and holiday-makers. 6. Go on a Wine Tasting Tour
Wine-tasting tours are a great way to learn about local wines and gain an appreciation for the art of winemaking. You’ll be able to sample various wines and get tips from experienced sommeliers on how to pair them with food. One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is to go on a wine-tasting tour and discover new wines. So give it a try, and you’ll be sure to have a great time.
