Here is the travel toiletries packing list with organization tips and travel hacks to help you pack for your next trip away.
When traveling, we need to bring our toiletries to keep us looking great on vacation. But transporting them can sometimes be problematic.
Creating a comprehensive travel toiletries list is essential for ensuring you have everything you need.
Knowing exactly what to include can save you time, space, and stress during your travels.
Before you start packing, let’s have a look at what we need to think about first.

- How long is your trip away? One night, a few days, a week, or a couple of weeks?
- How are you traveling? By car, train, plane, or cruise ship?
These factors determine how much of each product you are going to pack for your vacation.
If you are going on vacation for a week, you do not need a two-month supply of shampoo!
Here’s a breakdown of what to include in your travel toiletries list.

Travel Toiletries Containers
Travel toiletries organization will help you save space in your luggage and ensure you have everything you need.
There are so many travel toiletry bottles to choose from, so let’s discuss what type to use.
I have recently discovered some refillable bottles that are pouches.
They are very lightweight and space-saving travel toiletry bottles that you can buy at your local pharmacy, drug store, or online.
They come in all sizes and pack flat when you have finished using all the contents.

I also recommend using plastic or silicon travel toiletries bottles and jars in 25, 50 or 100 ml.
These will transport your toiletries very well, but will take up more space in your travel toiletries bag.
Also, look out for leak-proof when purchasing online or in-store in the product description.

Travel Toiletries Packing Essentials
Gather the toiletry essentials that you always use and then see what you can decant into travel containers or that you need to buy in a travel-sized product.
- Toothbrush and Toothpaste: Choose a travel-sized toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste.
- Shampoo and Conditioner: Opt for travel-size bottles or bring solid shampoo bars.
- Body Wash or Soap: A small bottle of body wash or a bar of soap.
- Deodorant: Stick or roll-on deodorant is more compact than aerosol spray.
- Skincare: Bring travel-sized or decant into bottles and jars.
- Razor and Shaving Cream: Pack a disposable razor and travel-size shaving gel or a one-step razor that has a shaving moisturizer built in.
- Makeup Essentials: Bring only your must-have makeup products.
- Don’t buy travel-sized products you have never used before as you do not want any allergies or any other problems when you are away on vacation.
- On most 1-2 week vacations, you only need 25, 50, or 100 ml of each product.
- Stick to the brands you know for your skincare: my go-to brands are Cerave, La Roche Posay, L’Oreal, Bioderma, and Garnier.

Travel Toiletries Packing Hacks
Here are my travel toiletries hacks for your travels:
- Buy travel-sized products or decant from your regular products into smaller 25 ml, 50 ml,100 ml bottles or jars.
- Label bottles with waterproof labels or cover labels with scotch tape.
- Cover all tops of products with your kitchen cling film, then screw on the top; this stops leaks.
- Put bottles in resealable bags just in case of breakage in transit and then the liquid does not go all over your clothes.
- Use multi-use products instead of taking lots of products.
- If you are going to a warm destination, bring full-sized sunscreen and after sun lotion these are the only items you will use most of the bottle or all.
- Make use of the allowance you can bring on the airline. I always bring a little of everything just in case, as connecting flights can be canceled or bags are delayed.
- Remember to put your travel toiletries inside a clear bag for security checks at the airport.
- Buy products at the airport after you have been through security.
- Use solids instead of liquids e.g,. soap, deodorant (Also helps the environment)
- Use a small brush/comb or a fold-away version.

Packing Light: Travel Toiletries Packing List
If you like to travel light, creating a travel toiletries list and packing light is vital. Consider these smaller options:
- Solid toiletries: Solid shampoos and conditioners can be more compact and lighter.
- Sample sizes: Utilize hotel samples or request samples from stores for free travel-size products.
- Mix and Match: Use multi-purpose products like 2-in-1 shampoos or lotions that function as both moisturizers and sunscreen.
