Cruise Life
My backstory with the cruise industry – for the last 18 years, I have worked on board and traveled as a passenger.
I have traveled worldwide several times and been on most cruise itineraries.
Because of this, I have a wealth of knowledge about different cruises, cruise ships and cruise ports.
I started the website in 2017 as I thought it would be a great insight into the world cruise I was traveling on at the time and it continued from there.
The website has expanded from cruise ports to all aspects of travel from cruise travel to land vacations, packing guides to travel tips.

Panama Cruise
I have been through the Panama Canal many times, as I worked this route for years. I have lost count of how many times now!
Also, I have seen it from the other side as a passenger and have been through the new and old canals.
The one thing I have learnt on this particular cruise is what to pack for the Panama Canal region.
The Panama Canal cruise season runs from November to April and it is always hot, and humid and sometimes there is a lot of rain.

Panama Canal Cruise
There are a few different itineraries you could go to depending on the cruise line you decide on and the number of days you would like to cruise for.
Most cruise lines do the following embarkation and disembarkation ports:
- Fort Lauderdale to Fort Lauderdale
- Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles
- Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale
The Panama Canal cruises can be 10, 12, 15, 16, or 18-day cruises, whichever you are going here are all the essentials you will need to pack.

Panama Cruise Hacks
- Weather: Hot and humid 20*C – 37*C year-round
- Stateroom: Book a balcony cabin so you can enjoy the Panama Canal transit.
- What to wear: It is hot, so wear lightweight loose clothing and sturdy shoes as there are uneven surfaces on the foot. A hat and sunglasses.
- What to bring: A bottle of water, a camera/phone, a fan and a hat when you go ashore in the cruise ports.
- Language: Spanish/English
- Cruise Port Tips: Drink lots of water, use lots of sunscreen and insect repellent
- Important: Always bring your passport ashore if you go out and do not go on a ship shore excursion, just in case you miss the ship. As you will not be able to join the ship in the next port without it.
