Do you have a travel bucket list? Are there places you dream of visiting one day?
What destinations will you add this year to your bucket list? New York, Paris, Tokyo?
I am always scrolling through Instagram and seeing amazing places that one day I would like to visit.
I have travelled a lot and been to some interesting places, some you may have heard of some you may have not.
I thought these five destinations you may like to add to your bucket list. I have personally been to each and highly recommend visiting each of these amazing parts of the world.

5 Destinations To Add To Your Bucket List
Easter Island – Chile
Easter Island is an island off Chile located in the South East of the Pacific Ocean. You can get there by plane or ship.
I arrived there by cruise ship, but it is a hard place to get to and sometimes the ship misses the port due to sea and weather conditions. You can fly from Santiago in Chile and the flight time is just over 5 hours.
Easter Island is a fascinating place and it also very strange! Around the island are these giant stone statues, similar to a person, as they have a body and head.
Seeing these giant statues with your own eyes is epic, as they are so big. When I was there I kept thinking how did they make these statues all those years ago and why?
I recommend going on a tour of the island, so you hear the stories and hiring a car and driving around, I did both and got a real feel for the island.
South America has some fantastic places to add to your bucket list here are 9 unbelievable attractions in South America.

Bora Bora – French Polynesia
The most idyllic place in the world. It looks like you have just stepped out of a postcard. This is the destination for you if you like white sand, crystal clear water and staying in paradise.
The reef is fantastic for snorkelling and diving. See stingrays, sharks and tropical fish.
In Bora Bora, you can just let go and relax. Wifi is not everywhere so you can really switch off.

Petra – Jordan
Petra the Lost City, one of the seven wonders of the world. If you have not heard of Petra the Lost City, you may have seen it in films such as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Arabian Nights or The Mummy Returns.
Petra is hidden in the sandstone mountains and is believed to have been built as early as the 312 BC. The lost city was unknown to the western world until 1812 when the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt introduced it.
The highlight of Petra is the Al Khazneh which is also called ‘The Treasury’ and the photo that you see of Petra.

Chefchaouen – Morocco
Chefchaouen is located in the Moroccan Rif Mountains. In the Medina of Chefchaouen in Morocco, it is all about the blue. Everything is painted blue!
Walking through the narrow streets all you see is blue walls, blue doors, blue window frames, blue plant pots, blue stairs and blue paths in all different shades of blue. It is so unique and beautiful place to explore.

Kaohsiung – Taiwan
Kaohsiung is on the southwestern coast of Taiwan. It is a great city from the busy Chijin Island to the tranquil Lotus Lake.
Chijin Island is the city’s oldest district, full of street food vendors (mainly seafood), cute shops and home to the oldest temple in Kaohsiung, the Tienhou Temple.
Turn bad luck into good fortune at the Lotus Lake. It is a beautiful area set on a lake surround by lotus flowers. Walk through the Spring and Autumn Pavilions and the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas. See the colourful Chih Tzi Temple opposite the lake.

I don’t think my budget will allow for me to visit Bora Bora, but my sister is going there for her honeymoon in May. I will live vicariously through her!
These places that you’ve recommended look amazing and so diverse from one another! I genuinely would love to travel to Chile and now I would love to travel to Easter island – it looks fab! š
Morocco and Bora Bora are definitely on my list!

Lol, my first thought when I read this was, “Noooooooo!” My bucket list is too long already! Luckily Petra is already at the top, followed closely by Easter Island.
What a great choice of holiday destinations. I think I’ll add at least some of them to my bucket list! š
Ooh..adding to my bucket list as we speak!!!
I honestly can not wait until this pandemic is OVER. I would love to travel to at least two places every year from this point on. It is definitely time to live rather than stay subjected to your surrounding cities and states. This was a beautiful article and will read more. Thank you Lucy..
